Quantum Cryptography
Quantum computers are both a danger to internet security and a solution. This workshop will help you understand how current internet security is built on factoring prime numbers and how Shor’s algorithm can break that security. The second part of the workshop will feature classroom activities around quantum key distribution (QKD) using polarization.
This workshop builds on earlier ones in this series, but prior attendance is not required. This workshop will be virtual and is offered free of charge.
Facilitators:
- Alice Flarend (Bellwood-Antis High School, PA)
- Robert Hilborn (AAPT AEO, Retired)
